Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused NCCCO Certified Crane Operator to join our team and be responsible for operating a BRAND NEW CK1600g-3 Kobelco 160-ton crawler crane with a 220 ft boom.
This is a large-scale heavy civil infrastructure construction project, located in Atlanta, Georgia, and is anticipated to run for approximately two years. Candidates local to the Metro-Atlanta area are preferred.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform complex lifts and material movements.
- Execute concrete placement using a 3 cubic yard (3cy) concrete bucket to support structural forming tasks.
- Execute the precision placement of other heavy construction elements, including deep foundation piles, large precast concrete members, and structural steel components.
- Perform basic operator maintenance (e.g., fluid level checks, greasing, etc.).
- Calculate and determine load weights.
- Maintain consistent and effective communication/signaling with onsite personnel.
- Conduct thorough daily pre- and post-operation inspections of the crane and rigging gear.
- Adhere to all company/OSHA safety policies.
- Participate in safety meetings related to lifting operations (e.g., clearance, weather conditions, ground stability).
Qualifications/What We’re Looking For
- Must possess a current and valid NCCCO LAT, LBC, or LBT
- Proven experience operating heavy large capacity crawler cranes, preferably in large-scale heavy civil construction or comparable environments.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and production.
- Strong knowledge of load charts, operating limits, and critical lift planning procedures.
- Ability to climb to and work at heights, as well as the physical stamina necessary to perform the duties of the job in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening/physical.
- Ability to work out of town as required by project schedules.
- Authorized to work in the US.
