Pipe Fitter | Pipe Layer

Applicant will have basic tools and experience to perform installation of flanged pipe, PVC pipe, threaded pipe, and underground pipe; according to sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions

Essential Functions:

– Perform layout – square, on line and on grade

– Work with and around heavy equipment to safely excavate and trench for underground pipe

– Plan-Sequence installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers

– Cut pipe using saws, torches, or other means

– Thread pipe using threading machine

– Assemble and install pipe and pipe fittings; including those made of ductile iron, copper, stainless steel, and PVC

– Secure pipes and supports to structures with clamps, brackets, and hangers

– Setup and test piping systems for leaks with air and/or water

– Knowledge and ability to use basic power tools

– Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, brings problems to the attention of the supervisor

– Must be physically capable of climbing, carrying up to 50 lbs, standing-walking up to 10 hour work days, working outdoors in adverse conditions
