A Ruby-Collins/Reynolds/EPR Joint Venture on a major city sewer system upgrade that includes the separation of existing combined sewer within the Greensferry Basin.  The Greensferry Combined Sewer Basin is located west of the I-20/I-75/85 interchange.  The basin is general boardered by Washingson Park to the North, Holderness Street to the West, Ralph David Abernathy to the South and Lee Street to the East.  The basin consists of approximately 61,890lf of combined sewers, approximately 62,200lf of separate sanitary sewers, approximately 53,400lf of separate storm sewers, and approximately 117,700lf of water lines.

Also included in the work are related sewer and storm manholes (approx. 381ea), catch basins and drop inlets (approx. 375ea), asphalt milling (approx. 230,600sy), asphalt patching and overlay (approx. 230,600sy), asphalt striping, demolition and reconstruction of existing items (roads, driveways, structures, curb and gutter, etc.), landscaping and restoration of public and private property.  Also included in this work is the installation of approximately 44,000lf  of water line including:  500lf of 6”, 34,500lf of 8”, 7,200lf of 12” and 1,800lf of 16”.

This project is a part of the EPD consent decree mandated projects to be completed by the City of Atlanta within an allotted time frame.  This, along with the location of the project, makes this a very high profile project.  Extensive traffic control (including road closures, detours and shut-downs), quality assurance/quality control, hauling plans/routes, utility location, and preconstruction surveys are required.  Specialized personnel including a quality control manager, safety coordinator, traffic control manager, materials coordination manager, customer service manager, scheduler, and utilities coordination superintendent are required to be onsite at all times.

A Ruby-Collins/Reynolds/EPR Joint Venture on a major city sewer system upgrade that includes the separation of existing combined sewer within the Stockade Basin.  The Stockade Combined Sewer Basin is located in the southeast section of the City of Atlanta.  The basin is generally bordered by Dekalb Avenue to the North, Boulevard to the West, East Confederate Avenue to the South and Moreland Avenue to the East.  The basin consists of approximately 81,900 linear feet of separate sanitary sewers, approximately 47,500 linear feet of separate storm sewers and approximately 10,000 linear feet of water lines.  The separation of the existing combined sewers within the Stockade Basin involves the construction of approximately 50,700lf of new separate sanitary sewers, 11,200lf of new storm sewers.
